NAMI South Suburbs of Chicago receives grant from Northwestern Medicine

NAMI South Suburbs of Chicago volunteers - President Marianne Bithos and Michaelyn Sloan -  share a moment with Illinois First Lady M.K. Pritzker, guest speaker at Northwestern Medicine’s event.

NAMI South Suburbs of Chicago was the recipient of one of Northwestern Medicine’s competitive grants this year.  Grants totaling $4.6 million were awarded to 152 organizations that offer a wide range of services including housing, nutritional needs, transportation, childcare, and more access to mental health and primary care.

On July 31, Northwestern Medicine hosted an event at Northwestern Medical Center, in downtown Chicago to recognize grant recipients. Organization leaders joined together to meet and brainstorm with other community groups to find ways to better support the needs of the communities.
